Dr Dominic Cook

Dr Dominic Cook, the managing director of Effundo, is regarded as the UK’s leading commercially available expert in discolouration.

In 1995 Dominic graduated from Imperial College with a BSc in Geology with Environmental Applications. He then spent 2 years as a Junior Geologist involved in gold mining and exploration in Australia and Mauritania.

In 1997 Dominic diversified into oil exploration as a QC Geophysicist on land seismic crews which took him all round the Middle East and North Africa. This culminated in the position of relief head of department on a Schlumberger crew in Abu Dhabi.

Dominic returned to the United Kingdom in 2003 to study an MSc in Urban Land and Water at Sheffield University’s Department of Civil and Structural Engineering.

In 2004 Dominic joined the Pennine Water Group at Sheffield University to pursue a PhD in Discolouration Material Generation Rates in Live Drinking Water Systems, sponsored by Yorkshire Water Services.

Upon completion of his PhD in November 2007 Dominic joined Mouchel to gain valuable commercial experience working for a major consultancy.

In the summer of 2009 Dominic set up his own company- Effundo.
